The Pride’s Blessing

ok so we might be a bit late 2 the party but nevertheless, happy pride!!!!

it’s been a busy couple of weeks, and i barely had time 2 get out of the house. dinner with the fam went well, but I didn’t get any moment to talk with my dad. What’s worse, my cousin Bart will be staying over next week, and i have to share my bedroom with him. Very yucky . i hope he brings his own toothbrush this time… he loves 2 chew on those jerky strips aaalll the time.

but lets focus on what’s new around the sanctuary: we got new partners! like it couldn’t be in any other way, we partnered with a non-profit accelerator: PowerUp+. it is a wonderful place where they promote and support diverse teams like our own. there, we will keep developing The Well’s Blessing.

speaking of pride month, we're proud 2 announce that our game has been showcased in Press Gay to Play, a celebration of queer indie games and stories.

i think it is great our team will continue to have support from experienced devs. maybe they will introduce me to other media and website managers. i'm sure i could teach them a thing or two about how to be as great at this job as i am

PGConnects’ Feedback

i told u guys last time The Well’s Blessing featured in the PGConnects Barcelona, and that we got tons of feedback. one of the main concerns of the people who tested the game was the player feel.

apparently, most comments were focused towards the stiffness of the movement. the devs took notes of it and they have been working on fixes and features to greatly improve the experience of our beloved players.

we now offer features such as jumping or a wobble effect when walking  (which sometimes makes me feel dizzy). now u also accelerate and deaccelerate when u move, which i though that would be counterproductive, but there’s something that feels nice about it. oh oh, my favourite feature. are u ready? u can now run down on cliffs!! isn't that awesome? i might have almost broken a leg doing it but it is really something.

i hope all future testers enjoy these perks as much as i did.

The Actual Developer Log

aaaanyways, here’s what the devs want me 2 share with you all:

We partnered with PowerUp+ on their accelerator program PowerUp+ BOOST. This will help us continue to grow our team’s skillset and reach our objectives.

In the meantime, based on the feedback we’ve had, we’ve been working on improving the player experience by updating our First Person Controller with subtle camera wobbling and a jump option, among other features.

These last weeks, we’ve also been defining the roles of the team’s members better to work more efficiently on the project. This was especially necessary now that we had begun a new phase with this accelerator. We’re still in progress and testing. You will hear from us once the departments and roles have been defined more concretely.

looks like I can finally jump around the park - at least in-game. i know a certain grumpy boar ranger that won’t like that very much . the devs seem to be firing up at full speed with this new team structure and the accelerator. my work here might be accelarated as well  - which reminds me i should really try harder to talk to my dad about my non-existient salary . Not all of us should pe payed in experience hehe

next week will be pretty hard, but i will be in touch with y’all about our developments. hopefully Bart doesn’t get his hands around my things again.

also, u may wonder why im so pumped up this week, and i cant wait to share it but i MUST NOT YET (i would jinx it if i did)

cya laterz and happy pride once again!!!
